The company that owns the bus carrying the Seton Hill women's lacrosse team involved in a fatal accident Saturday morning says it is "cooperating fully with police, officials from Seton Hill University and others to assist the student athletes, coaches and others on the motorcoach."
The accident killed two and injured 21.
Mlaker Transportation, of Davidsville, has the highest safety rating given by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
It is also certified by the U.S. Department of Defense as a Level 1 rated carrier, which is "a very prestigious level of certification," said Dan Ronan of the American Bus Association in Washington, D.C.
Ronan said the company is also Transportation Safety Exchange safety-certified, which is "an even higher, more stringent standard."
"This is a very good company," said Ronan, "one that obviously believes in safety - and they will do all they can to find the cause of the accident and get to the bottom of it."
Mlaker Transportation released a statement saying the company "wishes to express its sorrow and sympathy to those impacted by this accident."
