Senator Paul, heir to the libertarian political dynasty built by his father, ?Ron Paul, endorsed the Republican Senate candidate in the Big Sky State, Rep. Denny Rehberg (R), on Sunday. The Ron Paul-lead Liberty PAC had previously endorsed Representative Rehberg.

?I support Denny Rehberg and encourage you to do the same, because a vote for anyone other than Denny Rehberg is a vote to keep?[majority leader] Harry Reid and his liberal allies in control of the U.S. Senate,? Rand Paul said in a recorded message distributed by the Rehberg campaign.

That "anyone other than" Rehberg is not just a reference to Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Tester. It also refers to third-party candidate Dan Cox, who is carrying the libertarian banner in the election and who could siphon enough votes from Rehberg to hand the race to Senator Tester.?

The libertarian party?s presidential nominee, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, has endorsed Mr. Cox. Cox, who runs an online fishing supplies company, is formally running as the Constitution Party candidate.

Tester, a farmer from Big Sandy, Mont., won his seat in 2006 by the fewest votes of any US Senate race that year. The 2012 contest looks to be just as close.

The Rand ?endorsement indicates more that the Rehberg folks take locking down that vote seriously than anything else,? wrote David Parker, a professor at Montana State University who is writing a book about the race, in an e-mail to the Monitor. ?Will it matter? Hard to say.?

The Tester campaign believes Cox could be a secret weapon. An anti-Rehberg group, Montana Hunters and Anglers Leadership Fund, recently put $500,000 behind an advertisement touting Cox as the ?real conservative? in the race.?

The Montana Republican Party, for its part, has filed a Federal Elections Commission complaint alleging that environmental groups backing Tester did not properly disclose their funding of a pro-Cox piece of political mail.?

The race has been a nip-and-tuck contest all the way through.?Rehberg holds a 49 percent to 45 percent edge over Tester in a Mason-Dixon poll released Sunday, just within the poll?s margin of error of 4 percentage points. Cox took 1 percent, and undecided voters clocked in at 5 percent. A Public Policy Polling survey released Sunday night showed Tester with a two-point advantage.

The Real Clear Politics rolling average of polls, however, shows Rehberg with a miniscule edge of 0.4 percentage point.

Franklin University is seeking an experienced professional to join our University Information Systems team as a Business Systems Analyst. The analyst's role is to support Franklin University's staff, faculty, and students in their use of university information systems and software applications, and to assist internal IT teams in their work to deliver these services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide second level service desk support to our user community by monitoring, responding to, and resolving incoming service requests regarding the university's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system - Datatel's Colleague.
  • Apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues
  • Identify opportunities to implement untapped functionality available within applications to enhance business processes through gains in efficiency and effectiveness, and to maximize the benefit of IT investments and initiatives
  • Collaborating with internal partners, IT, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, recommend, and implement solutions

Project Management

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

Preferred Skills and Characteristics:

MILWAUKEE (AP) ? In his days in the state Senate in Springfield, Ill., Barack Obama was known as a pretty good poker player. While he might have known how to mask a winning hand then, he's not hiding the self-confidence he appears to have about the outcome of his re-election bid.

He's taken to running to his rope lines, as if one moment away from a voter is a moment too long. He soaks up his crowds, chin out, waiting for the din to die down. He jokes when he urges an overflow audience not to hesitate to take a friend, a neighbor, a girlfriend to vote early.

"You should convince them to vote for me before you before you drag them off to the polls," he says. But his demeanor says he just knows they will.

Obama, in the final three day campaign sprint of his life, betrays no sign of disquiet over the outcome of the race. His team, disciplined analysts of voter data and hard election metrics, shows no anxiety either.

Long-time political adviser David Axelrod, he of the droopy mustache and the hangdog look, is all smiles, vowing to shave off his 40-year-old facial hair if Obama loses Minnesota, Michigan or Pennsylvania (the bet drew a rebuke from the American Mustache Institute) Other aides, including deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, are growing beards until the election.

Senior adviser David Plouffe, who examines political movements like economists track rare market indicators, displays the same coolness he had at this time four years ago, when Obama's victory then was all but assured.

Now, these are professional practitioners of politics where misdirection and a good poker face are requisite arts. Presidents know how to hide bad news or put an upbeat face on gloom. In a nip-and-tuck election, he and his aides could be whistling past a graveyard.

But their body language in every way suggests they believe their numbers. And their own numbers say they are winning. To be sure, Obama has an easier path to the 270 electoral votes he needs to win re-election. He must hold on to leads in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Minnesota, and win in Ohio, Iowa and Wisconsin, states where public polls show him tied or with an advantage. Early voting in Iowa and Ohio show Democrats outnumber Republicans. For Obama, it is clear Ohio, with its 18 electoral votes, is the key.

In these final days, Obama has been piling on events. He had three stops in Ohio Friday. He has four stops Saturday, covering Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Virginia. On Sunday, he'll travel to New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio (again), and Colorado.

His voice is raspy now, comforted backstage with sips of hot tea. But the familiar lean into the microphones is more pronounced. In Mentor, Ohio, Saturday, when he cried out "We've come too far to turn back now," his right arm stretched behind him as if to point to a departed place.

Later, at a Milwaukee rally with a boisterous crowd of more than 10,000, he drew attention, as he often does, to his graying hair and suggested that Romney is an unknown quantity.

"Now Wisconsin, after four years as president you know me. You know me. You've watched me age before your eyes."

Among those traveling with him in this last push is longtime Chicago friend Marty Nesbitt.

"I've never seen him more exhilarated than he is right now," Axelrod said.

"He is very cognizant of the fact that this is his last campaign. This is the closing argument of his last campaign," he said. "He knows he's never going to do this again."

Zombo missed the first eight games with a hamstring injury. He returned to practice last month, and the Packers had to decide by next Wednesday whether to activate him or not. Zombo played in 18 games, making nine starts, in his first two years with the Packers.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brandon Jennings hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Milwaukee Bucks a 105-102 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. The referees used video replay to confirm the shot left Jennings' hand with one-tenth of a second left on the clock in Milwaukee.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Colorado College scored twice in the second period and goalie Joe Howe made that stand up as the Tigers shut out Wisconsin 3-0 Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
